Job Summary

The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations at the construction site. This role ensures that the project is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict compliance with architectural/engineering drawings, quality benchmarks, and Cambodian building regulations. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical design and field execution, managing both direct labor and subcontractors effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Site Operation & Schedule Management: Manage all daily physical on-site activities. Monitor, adjust, and maintain the short-term and master construction schedules to ensure zero project delays.
• Quality Control & Drawing Review: Interpret and review architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings. Ensure all construction work matches technical specifications, material guidelines, and shop drawings.
• Subcontractor & Workforce Supervision: Supervise, coordinate, and motivate site supervisors, main contractor crews, and specialized subcontractors. Conduct daily toolbox meetings and assign clear tasks.
• Material & Logistics Management: Coordinate the timely delivery, inspection (Material Inspection Requests - MIR), and inventory tracking of materials, tools, and heavy machinery on site. Prevent material wastage and shortages.
• Safety & Compliance (HSE): Implement and enforce strict workplace health, safety, and environment standards. Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure proper usage of PPE and secure structural scaffolding/shoring. Ensure alignment with the Cambodian Building Code.
• Progress Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports, site diaries, and photo documentation to the Project Manager. Keep track of site variations, Work Inspection Requests (WIR), and field modifications.
• Conflict & Problem Solving: Proactively identify site challenges (structural discrepancies, material issues, or weather delays) and provide practical, localized engineering solutions on the ground.
• Payment & Quantity Verification: Assist the Quantity Surveyor (QS) team by verifying completed works on-site, assessing subcontractor progress claims, and cross-checking material quantities (BOQ alignment).

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of solid experience in site supervision or site management (experience in high-rise, residential boreys, or commercial resort/hotel hospitality developments is highly valued in Cambodia).
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering, architectural details, and structural layouts.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D/3D), MS Office (Excel), and project scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of concrete reinforcement, steel structures, and structural assembly finishing details.
• Languages: Native fluency in Khmer (written and verbal) is essential for laborer communication. Strong professional command of English or Chinese (Mandarin) is required for reporting to project stakeholders, investors, and consultants.
• Soft Skills: Proven leadership and team-building capabilities. High integrity, open-mindedness, and an ability to thrive under high pressure and tight project deadlines.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work on-site six days a week and travel/relocate to provincial job sites if required.
