Depot Operations Management • Manage all day-to-day depot operations, including container receiving, inspection, storage, repair, washing, handling, and dispatch. • Ensure efficient yard planning and container stacking to maximize depot capacity and productivity. • Monitor container inventory accuracy and maintain real-time visibility of stock movements. • Ensure compliance with shipping line, customer, and company operating procedures. • Optimize depot workflows to improve productivity, turnaround times, and service quality. • Investigate and resolve operational issues, delays, and customer complaints. Staff Management • Lead, supervise, and develop depot personnel including supervisors, equipment operators, mechanics, inspectors, clerks, security personnel, and support staff. • Establish performance objectives and conduct regular staff evaluations. • Ensure adequate staffing levels for operational requirements. • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. • Manage employee attendance, scheduling, training, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Equipment & Asset Management • Oversee utilization and maintenance of depot equipment including: • Reach stackers • Empty container handlers • Forklifts • Trucks and trailers • Gensets and support equipment • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are implemented and followed. • Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime. • Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs. • Recommend capital expenditure requirements and equipment replacement plans. Trucking Operations Management • Manage daily trucking requirements for container movements. • Coordinate utilization of the company-owned trucking fleet. • Manage relationships with third-party trucking contractors and transport providers. • Monitor trucking performance, availability, service quality, and compliance. • Ensure efficient dispatch planning and route coordination. • Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies. • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company safety standards. Safety, Security & Compliance • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security regulations. • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments. • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions. • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures. • Maintain depot security standards to protect containers, cargo, equipment, and company assets. Customer & Shipping Line Relations • Maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and customers. • Ensure service levels meet contractual obligations and customer expectations. • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally. • Support business development efforts by maintaining high service standards and identifying growth opportunities. Financial & Administrative Management • Monitor depot operating costs and implement cost-control measures. • Prepare operational and performance reports for management. • Manage operational budgets and expenditure approvals within authorized limits. • Review productivity, utilization, and financial performance indicators. • Support invoicing, vendor management, and contractor performance reviews
