• Coordinate the daily routing and scheduling of shipments and deliveries, optimizing for cost, time, and required service level. • Serve as the primary point of contact with carriers and 3PLs (Third-Party Logistics) providers for booking, tracking, and resolving immediate transit issues. • Ensure all shipping documents (e.g., Bills of Lading, customs paperwork, packing lists) are accurate, complete, and provided to relevant parties in a timely manner. • Work to maximize trailer utilization and density for outgoing freight to minimize transport costs (e.g., maximizing cubic space and weight limits). • Monitor the movement of critical shipments, proactively communicating any delays or diversions to internal sales and customer service teams.
• Manage and maintain the General Ledger (GL), ensuring all financial transactions are accurately and timely recorded, classified, and reconciled. • Lead the execution of the month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing and posting essential journal entries, accruals, and deferrals. • Prepare and analyze Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements; provide variance analysis comparing actual results to budget or forecast. • Oversee and perform tasks related to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including processing invoices, managing collections, and reconciling vendor/customer balances. • Ensure all accounting activities adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements; assist with external audit preparations by providing necessary documentation. • Maintain the accuracy and proper functioning of the accounting software (ERP system), ensuring data integrity and correct financial flow.
