Student Experience & Engagement

  • Support the planning and delivery of student engagement activities, wellbeing initiatives, orientation programmes, and student events.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant campus environment that promotes belonging and student satisfaction.
  • Organise wellbeing campaigns, workshops, and awareness activities related to mental health, resilience, stress management, study skills, and student life.
  • Support student clubs, societies, leadership initiatives, volunteering opportunities, and community engagement projects.
  • Encourage student participation in university events, activities, and feedback opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with students to help build a positive campus culture and community spirit.
  • Support the enhancement of the student journey from enrolment through to graduation.

 

Student Support & Retention

  • Work closely with academic teams to support student retention, attendance, progression, and engagement.
  • Monitor student attendance and engagement data and support interventions where required.
  • Assist with managing student conduct, behavioural, or welfare concerns in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Support students in navigating university systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in student case meetings and contribute to action plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Assist with follow-up actions relating to attendance, engagement, safeguarding, and student wellbeing cases.

 

General Duties

  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure student records and documentation.
  • Respond professionally and sensitively to student enquiries and concerns.
  • Participate in university events, induction activities, and staff development sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Promote the values, culture, and student-centred ethos of DMUC.
  • Undertake additional duties reasonably required by the university in line with the nature of the role.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Social Work, Human Resources, Student Services, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with students, young people, or within a wellbeing, pastoral, counselling, or student support environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally, discreetly, and empathetically
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and student welfare principles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within a university or international education environment.
  • Experience organising student engagement events or wellbeing campaigns.
  • Mental Health First Aid or counselling-related training.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and attendance monitoring platforms.
  • Ability to speak Khmer and English.
