  • Perform daily backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity and availability across IBM i systems
  • Monitor system performance, health, and security by analyzing alerts and logs to identify and resolve issues proactively.

  • Apply system patches, security updates, and hardening activities to maintain a secure and compliant environment.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts or task schedulers to optimize routine system operations, including DB2 database maintenance tasks.

  • Support application deployment and release management, including WebSphere components, ensuring smooth delivery and version control.

  • Provide technical support and expertise for IT projects, application upgrades, and deployments

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and configurations
  • Train, guide, and mentor junior staff, fostering knowledge sharing within the team
  • Stay informed about IBM i advancements and recommend upgrades or enhancements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Core System administration
  • Proficiency in IBM i systems: Understanding of CL (Control Language), RPG programming, SQL, LPAR (Logical Partitioning) management, and PTF (Program Temporary Fix) deployment
  • Experience with DB2: Knowledge of DB2 database management on IBM i, including query optimization, backup/restore operations, and performance tuning.
  • System Monitoring Tools: Familiar with BRMS (Backup, Recovery, and Media Services), system monitoring, and job scheduling tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
