I. Position Overview

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales performance within the assigned territory by developing customers, managing distributors and project accounts, and executing company sales strategies. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market coverage, and strengthening relationships within the construction and architecture ecosystem.

 

II. Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Territory Management

• Manage and grow sales within the assigned region.

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

• Develop territory sales plans aligned with company objectives.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing movements.

 

2. Channel & Customer Development

• Develop and manage relationships with dealers, distributors, retailers, contractors, and project customers.

• Identify new business opportunities and expand customer base in the assigned territory.

• Ensure proper product availability and visibility in the market.

 

3. Project Sales Support

• Identify construction projects and follow up with contractors, architects, and consultants.

• Support tender submissions, quotations, and pricing coordination.

• Track project pipeline and ensure timely follow-up until order closing.

 

4. Sales Team Supervision (if applicable)

• Supervise Sales Executives / Sales Representatives in the assigned area.

• Provide coaching, daily direction, and on-the-job training.

• Monitor team performance and ensure target achievement.

 

5. Reporting & Administration

• Prepare and submit regular sales reports (daily, weekly, monthly).

• Update sales forecasts and pipeline reports.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and credit terms.

 

6. Customer Relationship & Service Excellence

• Maintain strong customer relationships and handle complaints professionally.

• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Promote long-term partnerships and repeat business.

 

7. Other

III. Qualifications & Requirements

 

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the Construction, Architecture, Retail, and Home & Kitchen appliance & FMCG sector, or related field preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Good understanding of construction project sales processes.

• Ability to manage territories and work independently.

• Good relationship-building and customer-handling skills.

• Basic knowledge of sales reporting and forecasting.

 

Behavioral Competencies:

• Takes ownership of area performance and follows through on commitment.

 • Builds strong and long-term relationships with customers.

• Listens carefully to customer concerns.

• Understands local construction market, competitors, and customer behavior.

• Communicates clearly with customers, team members, and internal departments.
