Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

A. Parts Accuracy & Reduction of Supplement Costs
• Current supplement rates are elevated due to missing, incorrect, or delayed parts.
• An Inventory Controller ensures incoming parts match repair plans, verifies quality, and confirms all components are received before vehicle teardown completion.
• This reduces costly supplements and improves relationships with insurers.

B. Improved Cycle Time & Throughput
• Delays waiting for parts directly extend cycle time, reduce bay efficiency, and limit vehicle throughput.
• A dedicated controller tracks parts status in real time, flags backorders, and ensures techs have what they need before repairs begin.
• This improves key performance metrics (Cycle Time, Touch Time, and On-Time Delivery).

C. Stronger Cost Control & Profit Retention
• Inaccurate inventories lead to unnecessary reorder costs, lost parts, and decreased margins on each repair.
• The Inventory Controller maintains accurate stock levels, prevents duplicate purchases, and manages returns, cores, and credits to recover missed revenue.
• With parts being one of the shop’s largest cost centers, dedicated oversight directly increases profitability.

D. Compliance & Documentation Integrity
• Insurers require documentation accuracy for part usage, OEM vs. aftermarket selection, and adherence to repair plans.
• The Inventory Controller ensures all parts are logged correctly and matched to RO documentation, supporting compliance with DRP and OEM certification standards.

E. Operational Efficiency & Reduced Technician Downtime
• Technicians lose valuable time searching for parts, verifying orders, or performing administrative tasks.
• A dedicated Inventory Controller eliminates this inefficiency, enabling techs to stay focused on repairs and leadership to focus on workflow management.
