Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

  • Prepare monthly and regulatory compliance audit plan.
  • Plan and Execute regulatory compliance audit in accordance with regulatory requirement from various regulators and based on approved risk based audit plan.
  • To manage the planning, conduct, output and opinions for audit assignments within agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Timely bring to the HIA’s attention any suspected areas and/or serious misconduct and conflict of interest issue of all level of staff within the Bank and any misuse of the Bank’s assets.
  • Ensure key risk arrear and potential non-compliance issues are timely address and alert to engagement team leader, manger/Head of Internal Audit.
  • Ensure pre-audit procedure and documents are timely performed, completed with quality.
  • Plan and Execute audit in accordance with based on approved risk based audit plan.
  • Direct audit staff in planning, implementing audit plan.
  • Review and evaluate the internal controls, systems, risk management and governance processes and recommend corrections, improvements and compliance.
  • Identify risk areas and advice on control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Key issues are highlighted during the audit. Audit exit meetings are professional and audit observations are value adding to the Bank.
  • Ensure key risk arrear and potential non-compliance issues are timely address and alert to engagement team leader, manger/Head of Internal Audit.
  • Ensure all working papers are completed and in order – initials, cross-references, date, work descriptions, clearance, etc.
  • Initial draft report for 24 hour response is sent to management.
  • Draft Audit Report are timely submitted to HIA with quality and update audit plan.
  • Ensure that all issues are agreed prior to submitting report to HIA.
  • Ensure quality of Report, Working Papers before submitting draft Report to HIA.
  • Timely review draft audit reports and working paper ensuring quality and adequacy of the work performed prior to submission of the draft audit report to HIA for final review.
  • Ensures the quality, adequacy and completeness of the audit samples, completeness of work papers, validity of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Quality of report reviews and working paper.
  • Ensures testing done by Internal Auditors is as per required standards and latest Audit Program.
  • Timely clear review notes.
  • Ensure the audit assignment is conducted with quality.
  • Audit Engagements conducted in line with Audit procedures and Manual.
  • Positive feedback received from auditee.
  • Develop audit program and working papers to address new risk, products, processes, regulations or systems.
  • Audit Programs and Working Papers are regularly updated new risk, products, processes, regulations or systems.
  • Identify the institution’s risk areas and advice on control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure audit policy and Procedure Manual are timely updated.
  • Manage audit team and Provide performance appraisals for internal auditors and other staff directly and indirectly reporting to.
  • Positive feedback received from audit team and Management.
  • Continuously build self and staff’s capacity building.
  • Strengthen the capacity of staff through continuous on-the-job training and other methods.
  • Sharing knowledge and experience with other co-workers to help them improving their work process.
  • Build and maintain critical relationships with staff, managers, stakeholders and THE BANK.
  • Ensure Auditee Feedback Form is completed and received after completion of audit fieldwork.
  • Positive feedback received from auditee.
  • Open and consider other co-worker’s feedbacks/ideas to improve owns work process and performance.
  • Collaborative and assist co-workers when needed.
  • Conduct one’s self in a manner that reflects honesty and integrity, and maintains the effectiveness, values and mission of the organization.
  • Assists in coordinating work with external auditors/regulator, lenders (due diligence), financial and social performance raters and other departments.
  • Contribute in innovation/Process improvement-automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness of audit.
  • Conduct investigation, special audit or other audit as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent degree in the field in Accounting and Finance or related field.
  • At least have 5-year experience in Internal and External Auditing, Accounting and Finance and at least 3 year-experience in regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all facets of banking.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local laws and regulations including NBC, Tax, Labor law…
  • Pursue CIA, CAT or ACCA or other qualification in accredited institution is an advantage.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team and willing to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel very often and to stay in provinces, mainly in districts.
  • At least have 5-year experience in Internal and External Auditing, Accounting and Finance and at least 3 year-experience in regulatory compliance.
  • Pursue CIA, CAT or ACCA or other qualification in accredited institution is an advantage.
  • Some experience in the field of Information Technology including networking or programming is a plus.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel locally more than 50% of the time.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to work under pressure and require high commitment.
