A Fantastic Opportunity for ...

  • Conduct thorough reviews of complex life insurance applications, including medical, financial, occupational and other risk factors.
  • Apply company underwriting guidelines to reach sound of science underwriting decisions within delegated authority.
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting Manager and Actuarial team to refine and update underwriting manuals, rating grids, and exception protocols.
  • Lead monthly underwriting workshops on complex case studies, new product features, and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed underwriting analytics reports for senior management and suggest process-efficiency initiatives.
  • Cross functional collaboration to resolve escalated cases and drive customer-centric solutions.
  • Engage panel clinics and medical exam providers to optimize turnaround and data quality.
  • Identify emerging risk trends (e.g., new medical treatments, public health data) and recommend guideline adjustments.
  • Perform periodic file audits to ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical science, Insurance & Risk Management, or related field; (Medical doctor, Nurse, Midwife) is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of life insurance underwriting experience (with at least 2 years in a senior capacity) is a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with medical and financial underwriting criteria, risk assessment, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of sound decision-making in complex or high-value cases.
  • Hands-on experience developing underwriting guidelines and training programs.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and present actionable insights.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FLMI, ALU) are a plus.
