Job Description

An Excellent Opportunity for ...

  • Responsible for the filling of documents/ application to and liaising with the government agencies relating to the operation of the company, including the application for the qualified investment project and the Certificate of Compliance with the CDC
  • Drafting/ reviewing contracts and legal documents in English as well as develop standard templates for in house agreements and other legal documents necessary for the operation of the head office and stores in Cambodia
  • Implementing contract/ legal document management procedure and maintain validity and enforcement as well as managing legal housekeeping (archiving of contracts, minutes of Board Meeting, trademark registration)
  • Drafting agenda and minutes of the Board of Directors ‘meeting as well as setting up the company secretary structure and acting as a company secretary of the company
  • Providing legal consultation in support of the business operation unit by giving proactive legal advice/ service to ensure that the company’s operations are aligned with Makro’s internal policy and Cambodian laws
  • Cooperating with external legal advisors or service providers to ensure that all licenses and permits required by Cambodian laws are completed and met all the legal requirements in relation to the construction, store operation and products sold/ distributed
  • Liaising with the claimant and give instruction and direction to external consultant in handling the claim settlement
  • Writing periodically progress report to Thailand’s head office regarding business operation of the company and stores
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of legal work experience
  • Ability in drafting/ writing English contracts/ legal documents is a must
  • A good knowledge of company secretary matters
  • Having experience in wholesale/retail business or in a company granted QIP status will be an advantage
  • Good command of English (both writing & speaking)
  • Demonstrating independence and maturity, attention to details, ability to grasp relevant issues quickly and to understand commercial context and complete legal concept
