Job Description

A Good Opportunity for ..

Responsible for assisting the Bakery Manager in controlling and establishing the tactics and activity programs for  the people who work at the bakery store, with the purpose of promoting sales while keeping focus on positive margins and actively improving the profitability of the store.

  • Controlling and coordinates activities involved with bakery production, sale, and distribution of bakery products
  • Monitors the freshness and quality of all baked goods; monitors sell-by date on related products and proper FIFO rotation of stock
  • Follow up variety and quantity of bakery products to be produced, according to orders and sales projections
  • Control sales activities, following standard business practices
  • Prepare product distribution to customers and pay attention to customers’ needs ensuring high levels of customer service - create customer satisfaction by building relationships, paying attention to all inquiries, complaints, and recommendations from customers; when possible, make eye contact and greet customers, or when a customer asks for the location of an item, ensure the customer is accompanied to the specific location
  • Introduces and promotes Own Brand product to the customers; has knowledge to clearly present the specifications of products to customers and introduce new product by arranging demos
  • Presents product according to the 6 Rights + 1 merchandising philosophy
  • Ensures safety of all employees and customers; safety equipment and safety protective wear utilized at all times, department is safe from potential accidents, and spills are never left unattended
  • Follow up with suppliers to arrange purchase and delivery of bakery supplies
  • Implements, through subordinate managerial personnel, policies to utilize human resources, machines, and materials productively as assigned by Section Manager
  • May also train subordinates in all phases of bakery activities
  • May also manage bakery that produces only specialty products, for example bagels or pastries
  • May also manage bakery that sells products to general public, and may also prepare bakery products

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or Culinary/baking certification.
  • 2+ years in bakery operations, with 1+ year in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in baking techniques (artisan bread, cakes, etc.) and equipment use.
  • Basic financial literacy (cost tracking, inventory software).
  • Problem-solving, patience, and ability to work under pressure.
